Travel Idea: Yosemite National Park, California
Yosemite National Park is another great destination for your weekend holiday. As one of the oldest national park in America, Yosemite National Park offers great range of activities such as hiking, walking, kayaking, bird watching, photography or just enjoy the beautiful sightseeing.
One of the most popular activity include visiting Glacier point where you can be amazed by the wonderful and spectacular view of the earth, looking down 3,214 feet to the Valley floor and have an eagle’s view, an overlook, with a commanding view of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome and the High Sierra. How to get there? take Highway 41 for fourteen miles to the Chinquapin junction, then turn left onto Glacier Point Road.
Secondly, half Dome as one of the most unique feature of Yosemite National park offers beautiful view for those with young heart and physically fit to hike until the top of Half Dome. It rises up to 4,733 feet from the valley floor and is the youngest plutonic rock in the valley.
For those who prefer to have easy walk, there is a great site for you called Mirror Lake. In order to get there you only need to walk for 1-mile from Shuttle Bus #17. There is a trail also for bikers up to 3-mile loops to the lake. However, you must park your bike at the base of Mirror Lake hill as it appears to be dangerous.
Probably the most famous site in the Yosemite National Park, the gorgeous Yosemite waterfalls. You only need to make an easy walk from Shuttle Bus stop #7 near the Yosemite Lodge. The view is known among the photographers who are expert in their area. The view is just magnificent you can enjoy the upper and lower falls with its length of up to 2,425 feet, which makes Yosemite Falls as the 5th tallest in the world or highest in North America.
