Mexico is a land of extremes – from rainforests to vast deserts, tropical beaches to snow-covered volcanoes. Mexico is united by a multitude of indigenous cultures, archaeological masterpieces, rich history (and even pre-history) and a quaint village, Mexico is a perfect destination for today’s traveler. Mayans aren’t the only indigenous people of Mexico. Some 53 Indian language group exist throughout the country, mainly in the south, but some large groups – notably the Taragynara are found in the north around the copper canyon region.

Mexico’s most fascinating treasures are its amazing archeological sites scattered around the country. Located just 30 miles outside Mexico City, Teotihuacan was once the most powerful city of the new world, built more than 2000 years ago!
Palenque is found Southern Mexico, its temples rising mysteriously out of the jungles. Add grand cities, beautiful cathedrals, fascinating customs such as the day of the dead and Semana Santa (easter), and authentic Mexican food, mix that with the friendly and hospitable Mexican people, and you now have a world-class destination that caters for all tastes.

Mexico travel destinations: Oaxaca
Oaxaca is like nowhere else in Mexico. Its rich history starts back around 500BC at Monte Alban ruins and finishes in colonial charm with a vibrant native spirit. Steeped in a proud welcoming tradition you have to try the Oaxaca cuisine, one of the most delicious anywhere, or better still, take a cooking class.
The city of museum art galleries and colonial buildings that can only be appreciated on a walking tour. Head out and explore the nearby villages and valleys, look out for potery, weaving, wood carvings, and local ‘folkore’ Retrace the ancient cultures of the Zapotec, Mixtec and Toltec at Monte Alban and Mitla ruins.
