Recommended accommodation:
- Hyatt Regency Cheju, recommended by tripadvisor member from Toronto:
“Highly recommended by my Korean colleagues in Seoul, my fiancĂ© and I finally picked up this hotel for our three days vacation in Cheju Island out of our seven days trip in South Korea. My Korean colleague booked the vacation for us through a local agent and got us a very good deal for a king room with beautiful ocean view.
We love traveling and most of the time we stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel. I have to say this hotel is more beautiful than some 5-star hotels that we have stayed, in and out, and the service was great. Korean people were so polite and courteous! Our room was very clean, spacious with a large balcony facing the beautiful blue sea.
We went for a guided tour organized by the hotel on day two, but because of miscommunication, we were arranged to a wrong one. In the mid of the way, we started to realize it was wrong and told the tour guide. In about half an hour, the hotel sent a limo to pick us up. The limo was going with us for the whole day following the tour route that we were supposed to be on and the driver tried to be our tour guide. No extra charge! We were so impressed and invited the driver to have lunch with us.
The breakfast in the hotel was buffet with lots of varieties. We did not have dinner in the hotel, so can not comment on that. If you love Korean food, you should definitely try local restaurants instead of the hotel restaurant. I loved the garden and the beach. It was late September, the water was a little cold for swimming (at least for me). After all, we had a great time but too short, sure will be back.”
