The Ryugyong Hotel is the tallest building in North Korea, up to 105 stories and is still under construction since late 1980! This Hotel is supposedly the seventh tallest building in the world but somehow they never finished it until now. However, some of the tourists were quite amazed at this huge and magnificent hotel, standing tall in the midst of North Korea city. As the ABC News producer, Andrew Morse has said that “The hotel’s pretty incredible to see, and it does dominate the skyline”

It is still a mystery as to whom the Ryugyong Hotel were built and why they build such luxurious accommodation. “One of the more interesting tales is that there were so many problems with the project that they began to snowball because no one had the guts to report them to the “Great Leader” Kim Il Sung.”

“In the meantime, a good solution to the problem was forged in the uniquely North Korean way: The landmark has been taken off printed maps, and now everyone just changes the subject whenever it’s mentioned.” It is such a pity, that the building this big and costing lots of money never been finished.
