Las Vegas ended their license of 24-hour wedding service since August 30th, 2006. This means that they will be open only from 8 am until midnight on Fridays, Saturday and holidays. The counter did not offer after-midnight service Monday through Thursday.

The reason behind this closing is because officials said that they can save by $200,000 for the cost of licenses issued by the bureau. The question is whether or not this saving is worth the cost of closing at midnight.

This may have large impact for Las Vegas’ travellers, since it has been known as the marriage capital where they are able to get married at any time they wanted. For example Nicky Hilton, Demi Moore and Bruce Hillis all wed in the late night hours in Las Vegas and many more others.

Nevertheless, the county officials also said that they require some planning in order to obtain a license in advance to have holy matrimony after midnight is still possible.

The issue is will they be able to wait in order to get the license for after midnight holy matrimony?
