Current Ski Trails and Lifts

Chicago Tribune announces newest ski trails and lifts on the West such as; new tram in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for the year 2008, and new six-passenger chair at California’s Northstar-at-Tahoe serves 60 acres of new intermediate terrain.
“On the four-front, Oregon’s Mt. Bachelor has upgraded its Pine Martin Express to a high-speed quad. Colorado’s Crested Butte has exchanged the East River Lift, and Steamboat has swapped its Sunshine triple for detachable quads….
In Utah, Deer Valley has replaced its Sterling triple and Powder Mountain its Hidden Lake double with high-speed quads, while an all-new four-passenger chairlift at the Canyons serves 200 acres of added glades and trails.”
On the steep and deep side, Colorado’s Silverton Mountain added 164 acres of cliff-studded slopes. Aspen is opening another 20 to 30 acres off the Deep Temerity lift, Beaver Creek will open 180 acres in the Stone Creek Chutes, and Winter Park adds 76 acres on the backside of Parsenn Bowl. Powder hounds at Utah’s Solitude Resort can tackle the Queen Bess area north of the Honeycomb lift. For steep without deep, California’s Alpine Meadows plans to winch-cat groom high-angle screamers down some of its bowls.”
